I am late with this entry but I still think I can once again make a valid point from this fictional medicine show. This week a middle aged male presented with the rapid onset of dementia and unsteady gait. His imaging and blood work were normal. He then had an LP and he returns completely back to normal. AHH- normal pressure hydrocephalus or "wet, wild and wobbly" as I was taught. This condition does present with a rapid or early dementia, unsteady gain and incontinence. Often the imaging is normal and the LP is the diagnostic tool. I have to admit that I need to keep this condition in mind when seeing a newly demented patient.
