C4-C5 subluxation in patient with ankylosing spondylitis
The patient presented with neck injury after falling from a standing height. Cervical spine CT scan demonstrates a significant C4-5 subluxation. The patient had a history of Ankylosing Spondylitis accounting for a considerable weakening of the ligamentous structures of the spine. The patient also had a previous fixation at C6-7 levels which is evident on the above image.
Despite a significant separation between vertebrae the patient did not have any major motor deficits related to the cervical spine injury.
HALO brace was used to treat this injury.
