This is a very interesting case. According to the stroke protocol, everything was done right. The patient even presented within the window to receive TPA which does not happen very often. In this case despite our best efforts, the patient's stroke still extended and resulted in death. I think this case reminds us of the awesome power of the transition from life to death. We can fight valiently for our patients but in the end it is humbling to see disease win the battle.
